More Enquiries for Bury St Edmunds Solicitors

One of the things I've noticed recently is how many Bury St Edmunds Solicitors haven't yet claimed and verified their Google Places (formerly Google Local Business Centre) listing. If you don't understand what Google Places is, go here.

Solicitors are taking a real risk by not claiming it, but I imagine a lot of firms don't even know they have a Google Places listing in the first place. This is because Google will often create an entry for a company by taking information from other sources, like directories and the company's own website.

Unfortunately, Google often gets it wrong and puts a company in the wrong place on the map. Even when they get it right it means there is a listing for your company that anyone can come along and tamper with. If you click on the 'More' tab alongside your company's unclaimed listing you'll see the option to 'Edit this entry'.

Anyone can edit the listing and it's not difficult for them to claim it as their own. Meaning someone could easily post untrue or damaging information about your company on 'your' page.

So, if your listing is unclaimed, claim it!

I was so alarmed by this that I recently emailed several solicitors firms in Bury St Edmunds to tell them about the threat to their business.

(Incidentally, the top listing in Google Places for solicitors in Bury St Edmunds belongs to us - showing that not only do we know how to use Google Places but that by claiming a listing and optimising it, you can quite quickly climb the 'charts' - number one is obviously the best place to be!)

While our Places listing is top of page one, our http://www.solicitorsburystedmunds.co.uk/ website is now top of page two and climbing and now displays a 'for sale' board. Your practice could own or rent this domain (that's negotiable) and have your own website there but act quickly because the price will rise as soon as it hits page one...

If you think your solicitors' practice could benefit from a top-ranking domain (that brings us actual enquiries which we currently forward to real solicitors), call the number on the site.
